We are now in Antalya, which is in the southwest part of Turkey right on the Mediterranean. Tomorrow the ladies I have met from Trinidad and I are going to hang out at the hotel and soak up the Mediterranean sun. Here is a photo or two from my room.
My first international trip was to England in 1976 with the Duncanville High School Foreign Travel Program. I did not travel internationally again until 1999. I was also overseas on that horrific day in September of 2001, but I have not let that stop me from following my passion for travel.
In traveling I've had the opportunity to meet lots of wonderful people, see amazing places, and do some unforgettable things: kiss the Blarney Stone in Ireland, ride a camel in Giza and an elephant in Chiang Mai and Jaipur, take a hot air balloon ride over Luxor, climb a portion of the Great Wall outside Beijing, have a fish pedicure in Chiang Mai, touch the Western Wall in Jerusalem and the place where Jesus was born in Bethlehem, and take a helicopter flight over Victoria Falls.
My travels have taken me to Mexico, France, Switzerland, Germany, Ireland, Poland, Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Finland, Russia, South Korea, China, Turkey, Egypt, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, India, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, Peru, Morocco, Israel, South Africa, Swaziland, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Jordan, Iceland, Kenya and Tanzania. I'm checking things/places off my Bucket List - are you?
